Wendell State Forest – Outdoor Adventure – Free!

Please join your Western Mass teachers for a day in Nature!

• Cost: FREE!

• Date: Monday January 29th, 2018
• Time: 11AM-2PM

• Activities: We are hoping for some snow, but what we do will depend on the conditions.
Snow on the ground: sledding, ice skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing.
No snow: Nature walks, letterboxing, hiking,

• What to bring: Your TECCA t-shirt, warm clothes and your lunch! If there is snow, bring sleds, skies, snowshoes, ice skates. If not good shoes for walking.

Parking is free this time of year so there is no cost associated with the event. There is a warming room that will be open for us to use. It includes picnic tables to eat at, a wood stove for getting toasty and a restroom. Hot Chocolate and animal cookies will be available. The teachers will give mini lessons in cross country skiing, snowshoeing and/or guide nature walks and letter boxing adventures. Teachers will be there 11AM – 2PM, families are welcome to come at any point in the day and stay as long or short as they like.

(Notes: teachers have some extra snow equipment that we will bring to share but if you have your own please bring them)
